A Milestone

This post marks my 12th in 2011, and makes my posting so far this year equal to my total output in 2010. I made 12 posts throughout my summer in NYC. Kind of pathetic. Here's to being more consistent!

So, what's new with you, Spackleonians? Spackleites? Spackleists? People who read my blog? I'll work on that and get back to you with your adjectival form. Hopefully you all have marvelous Memorial Day weekend plans, and will relax and celebrate the cultural start of summer, while honoring our nation's fallen warriors (which everyone does, right?) This is my first weekend facing the reality that those in theater who actually work IN the theater have no life. While this is a holiday weekend for most, I will be working a show tonight, 2 shows tomorrow, and a matinee on Sunday. Monday, which is a national holiday, is my normal day off. I don't say this to complain, quite the opposite! I really enjoy my job, it's just strange hours that I keep. Perhaps it's not even noteworthy, since right now while everyone else is working I'm sitting in my pj's on Matt's couch blogging.

Speaking of Matt, he and Court are just about to take off for San Juan! They will be spending their Memorial Day weekend in sunny Puerto Rico, which means I have the place to myself. You are all invited to the massive party that I will be having. If we haven't caved in Matt's floor, there aren't enough people here. Matt's Roomba, Spot, will be the DJ.

It will probably be just a quiet weekend for me, full of relaxing, vegging, hanging out, and chilling. I will also probably be apartment hunting, since I made a promise to myself that if Matt is letting me stay with him, the least I can do is make an effort to find my own place. Though I wonder, how long does one have to squat at a place before one can take ownership? Maybe I have found a new place, furnished and all!

Anyway, that's all I have for right now. Maybe if something interesting happens today, or if I have another moment of introspective reflection, I'll post again later today. Here's hoping that the next dozen posts happen in this calendar year!

Keep calm and carry on.
