Getting Started

Today was my first day as a (mostly) professional person. No, I did not work a full day, and no, I will not be paid for the work that I did today. Baby steps! It was fun, and I'm so happy to be back at Atlantic. It helps to temper the feeling that I'm in bizarro land the past 24 hours by working at a familiar place.

Most of my day was spent talking with Teresa, the Company Manager, going over what exactly my responsibilities will be in preparation for tomorrow. I got to spend a little bit of time in the theater watching the tech rehearsals, and I helped to prepare some contracts for the next batch of plays in the festival. Tomorrow will be the real test, as we open at 7:30pm. I'm actually really pumped to work on my first professional show as a paid member of the staff. I'll be in the program and everything!

I don't have a lot else to report today. It was actually pretty low-key. I didn't get to Atlantic until around 11:00, and I left at about 4:00. I walked around the Pier A park in Hoboken for a little (saw the Queen Mary 2 berthed on the Hudson - beautiful ship!), and then I just chilled out at Matt's until he got home. And then we chilled together until Courtney got home. And then we all got some food. And then we all chilled together until they went to bed. I guess that's what real people do? Chill? I dunno. It was nice, because I haven't really slowed down for a long time, and it's been good to relax. On the other hand, too much inactivity will drive me crazy. I'll have to take up some sort of hobby.

I apologize that I don't have anything too interesting to say tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be riding high after my first opening night, and I'll have inspiration to write all kinds of great things. I'm just proud that I managed to post two nights in a row!

Ok, I'm off to bed. Wish me broken legs!
