I think I'm probably the world's worst blogger. I'm so bad at posting updates that it's pathetic. And it's not even a conscious decision to not post, I actually just routinely forget that this blog exists at all.
Well, in any case, thank you for bearing with me if you still read (I know that my parents and grandparents do). I'll try to be more diligent, but I won't make any promises, since my track record is so abysmal (Is that word spelled correctly? That's how my spellchecker wants it to be, but it looks wrong).
Anyway, the past few weeks have been largely uneventful - long periods of nothing to do followed by short bursts of intense activity. I'm working on a show at the FringeNYC Festival, which ends next weekend, and I'm house managing for BLUEBIRD at Atlantic, which ends September 9. Starting tomorrow, actually, I'll be the fill-in Company Manager, while Teresa is away on a well-deserved vacation. Should be fun, if not a little hectic.
Had an interview yesterday with Lincoln Center Theater for the open General Management Assistant position. I think the interview went well, and I'd like the job if for no other reason than that I'd like to have any job that will allow me to afford actually moving here permanently. As of right now, in less than 20 days if I have not acquired or am close to acquiring a full-time, permanent position, I will be moving back to Pittsburgh. That time-frame coincides with the end of my scheduled employment by Atlantic for BLUEBIRD, and me needing to be in Pittsburgh for the first CMU Alumni Association Board meeting of the year. While not my desired course of action, I've been hemorrhaging money at an alarming rate this summer, given how crazily expensive it is to live in the NYC area, and I'm just not comfortable subletting or renting an apartment without having a sure way to pay for it. It would be infinitely cheaper (if not a good deal more inconvenient) for me to travel to New York for interviews than for me to support myself here for all the time between interviews. So that's my plan. Live at home rent free for as long as it takes for me to find a job, and then move back. And if I find a job in the next 15 days, so much the better!
Ok, that's all I've got for you now. Who knows when I'll be back, but hang in there!
