Exhaustion

Sheesh! This whole working 8 hours a day plus 2+ hours of commute is really wearing me out! Yesterday was insanely busy at work. We had the quarterly board meeting, and it was being held for the first time in the lobby of the Linda Gross Theater, which is a very nice space. It's just not a very conducive space for a board meeting with 20 people. So it was interns rushing around galore, shuttling things between the office and the main stage to get ready. I single-handedly assembled the board packets, which were probably over 50 pages long and needed to be collated and tabbed and labeled. The meeting was apparently successful though, so hooray for that!

After work, I went straight back to Brooklyn and crashed for a little, and as far as I was concerned in for the night. Or so I thought.... Damn Klondike and their amazing bars of goodness! I saw a commercial for Klondike while watching NCIS, and I just HAD to have one. It was not a choice. So I thought I'd take a nice little stroll to the bodega on the corner and purchase one. But the bodega on the corner didn't have Klondike bars. And neither did the next one. Or the next one. I walked 7 short blocks and 2 long blocks before I found one. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Plus, I probably walked it off in the end.

I've been on a bit of a SimCity kick lately (3000 at the moment), so that's been occupying a good bit of my free time. For the first time ever (or at least that I can remember), I have a city with a population of over 100,000 and I didn't have to take out a single loan! I'm basically funding my city by importing garbage which has my pollution levels through the roof, but I'll change that once I start generating tax income (probably).

Anyway, I finally have my Wii Fit set up, so that's my new morning routine. It sure beats paying for a gym membership, and it's easy on my ankle, which is good (all better, by the way!). Today was a little calmer at work, though we had another usher cancellation! It's making me crazy! Today, I actually failed to find one, despite emailing the entire usher wait list twice. I'm so ashamed. On a brighter note, I'm starting to learn the meat of the daily show wrap reports from Aaron, and will probably start actually doing the reports myself in the near future. We also had our intern orientation today, though everyone admitted it was probably unnecessary, since only 4 of the 8 or so total interns for the summer are working yet, and we've been at Atlantic from anywhere between 1 week (me) and 1 month. Everyone seems to be pretty pleased with our performance so far, so it was a nice pleasant meeting!

After work, I trekked uptown to the Cathedral and met James for dinner. We ate a nice little Italian place on Amsterdam called V&T's, and they had delicious pizza. He's leaving for a 12 day tour of England with the St. John's Choir, so I won't see him for a while.

Then it was back to Brooklyn and my budding city! There you have it folks! More soon!

  2. Why would you "eat a nice little Italian place"?? What'd the place ever do to you??

  3. Ankur - it seemed so tasy!

    A. - I'm going to risk being blunt and ask who you are. All I can see is your alias, so I don't know your name.
