Saw Passion Play tonight - didn't love it. Don't get me wrong, it was quite good, and the acting was incredible (Zoe Wanamaker and Samantha Bond in particular), but I wasn't crazy about the piece itself I guess. I certainly wouldn't recommend against seeing it, it was just a bit of a letdown after Merrily last night.
Had some great meetings with three very different British producers in varying phases of their careers, which will hopefully be the start of some good working (and maybe even personal) relationships. I also got a very brief crash course in British theater-making, but I think I understand it better than I did when I arrived 39 hours ago.
Tomorrow is a meeting with a CMU alumna whom I met at Volunteer Forum last weekend in Pittsburgh and who lives in London and is trying to build a CMU Alumni London Chapter. We're getting coffee at Maps Studio Cafe, which is apparently Ace and Bash's go-to spot where they do all the writing for their shows, they say its great. Then I have a whole day free to do whatever until Cripple of Inishmaan at 7:30pm!
The jetlag is catching up, so I'm off to bed. Cheers!
