Greetings, Spackleonians!
Long time, no see. By way of a brief catch-up, I'm now officially a Broadway Producer with a show currently running on the Great White Way (see my IBDB profile: http://ibdb.com/person.php?id=493437), and have founded my own production company, the creatively titled DiClaudio Productions, LLC (www.diclaudioproductions.com). GRACE officially opened just under a month ago on October 4, and while not all of our reviews were stellar, enough of them were good (and some were genuine raves) that we are not disappointed. Ticket sales are strong, and we are confident that the show will continue to do well for the remainder of it's run through January 6, 2013.
It occurred to me that this blog does not really impart any news to anyone, since most likely whoever still reads it already knows what I'm posting here. However! It does serve as a handy repository of my thoughts, at least until the End Times when all the power goes out and the servers on which this blog is stored become nothing more than unattractive sculpture art.
Speaking of End Times! Hurricane Sandy. She's a' comin'. The leading edge of this mega-storm is already lashing the East Coast, and when it collides with the winter storm coming out of the west, and taking into account the full moon tonight with its attendant higher tides, this should promise to be a doozy. A hurricane and a snow storm at the same time. It's being described as more powerful than the Perfect Storm of '91, except it's going to make landfall instead of staying out to sea in the North Atlantic. Hurricane-force winds in excess of 90mph are expected along the coast from Virginia up to Cape Cod, and here in Pittsburgh we will still feel the storm 400 miles inland with 25-35mph winds, gusting as high as 60mph. This storm seems to be everything that we though Hurricane Irene would be last year, and more. Here's hoping that all of my friends and family on the Eastern Seaboard, especially my cousin Mary Kate who is in the Coast Guard stationed on the Chesapeake, stay safe for the next few days until the storm passes.
This brings back such wonderful memories of the several days spent in "evacuation" in Basking Ridge, NJ at the end of August last year with Matt and Courtney at Matt's parents' house, as the three of us escaped Hurricane Irene by playing Monopoly and eating far too much. Dunno what the next few days have in store for us, but we have plenty of supplies, and plenty of board games to keep us occupied. Dad is stuck in Houston, but Mom, Duffy, and my dear, dear friend Caity Pitts (who has been staying with us for a few weeks while she recuperates her voice) should have a grand old time.
I was actually supposed to be in New York City today for some meetings, and I was going to hole up with James should the storm hit, and was looking forward to snarkily passing the time with my oldest friend, but alas my flight and meetings were canceled, so in Oakmont I stay.
Ok, that's all for now, folks! Keep calm and carry on.
