He's at it again...

Hi folks!  Long time, no blog post, but no one is surprised!

Ok, so here's what's up: do you remember way back in January when I announced that I would be working as a Producing Associate for Annie that there was a chance that I would have the opportunity to work on future shows with Bisno Productions?  Well, since Debbie was pretty pleased with my fundraising performance for Annie, she's giving me the opportunity to raise money for her next big Broadway project, the premiere of the new play Grace by Craig Wright!

Grace is a darkly comic exploration of the ideas of fate and redemption.  It's a pretty compelling story, interestingly told, and will be starring Paul Rudd, Michael Shannon, and Ed Asner, with Kate Arrington rounding out the cast, and director Dexter Bullard.  Previews start September 14, the show opens October 4, and the limited engagement run ends on January 6.  Here's the official press blurb:

A thrilling cast combines with one of theater's truly original voices, in this enthralling Broadway premiere that asks: Are we in control of our lives or is there something else at work? With a gripping and innovative dramatic structure, GRACE follows a wide-eyed young couple (Rudd & Arrington) as they start a new life in sunny, promise-filled Florida, with plans to open a chain of Gospel motels. An agitated neighbor (Shannon) and a caustic condo exterminator (Asner) complete the eclectic foursome, as destinies collide in this intense, entertaining and suspenseful journey to the edge of your seat.

And here's the link to Bisno Productions, in case you want more information than that:

I'm really excited to be working on this show not only because it's a great opportunity for me, but also because I genuinely love the piece (which is important, even in commercial entertainment).  The truly exciting prospect this time around, however, is that I have been given the opportunity, contingent on my ability to raise a certain amount of money, to actually be a credited Associate Producer or Co-Producer!  Debbie is once more offering me the kind of break that I could only dream of, and giving me the chance to really take a solid crack at being a real, honest-to-goodness Broadway producer!  Not only would my name appear in the Playbill (above or below the title, depending on my "level"), but I would also have a "seat at the table" and be a part of the production's decision-making process, as well as being eligible for a Tony Award, and potentially having access to some of the return (because let's be honest, I'm doing this as a job, but have yet to be paid for it, so that's definitely enticing).

So that means I'm back out on the market, aggressively hitting my network, and just as aggressively trying to expand it.  Once more I'll ask you, Spackelites, if you are personally interested or know of someone who might be, please feel free to reach out to me!  It's an exciting show to get involved in, not only because it stands a decent chance of returning capital in short order but also (and perhaps more importantly) because it will be helping to bring an exciting and new piece of art to life on the Broadway stage!

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more...

Keep calm and carry on.
